ENFORCING THE HYDE AMENDMENT

The executive order revokes two previous orders related to reproductive healthcare, Executive Order 14076 and Executive Order 14079, which had embedded taxpayer funding for elective abortions in various federal programs.

The order is intended to restore the policy of not using federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion, as established by the Hyde Amendment. It also directs the Director of the Office of Management and Budget to promulgate guidance on implementing this new policy, while noting that nothing in the order impairs existing laws or rights related to executive departments, agencies, or legislative proposals.
