The President has ordered that military service must be reserved for those mentally and physically fit for duty, and that the Armed Forces must adhere to high mental and physical health standards to ensure their readiness and effectiveness. This policy is intended to protect the American people and our homeland as the world’s most lethal and effective fighting force.
The order also states that expressing a false “gender identity” divergent from an individual’s sex cannot satisfy the rigorous standards necessary for military service, and that adoption of such a gender identity conflicts with a soldier’s commitment to an honorable, truthful, and disciplined lifestyle. The order calls for the update of Department of Defense policy to reflect this new standard, and requires that the Secretary of Defense issue directives to end invented and identification-based pronoun usage.
