WITHDRAWING THE UNITED STATES FROM AND ENDING FUNDING TO CERTAIN UNITED NATIONS ORGANIZATIONS AND REVIEWING UNITED STATES SUPPORT TO ALL INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATIONS

The executive order establishes that the US will reevaluate its commitment to certain UN institutions due to their perceived drift from their original mission of promoting international peace and security. Three organizations are specifically targeted for scrutiny: the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC), UNESCO, and the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). The US will not participate in the UNHRC and is considering withdrawing from UNESCO over concerns of anti-Israel sentiment.

The order also includes provisions related to funding. The US will withhold its proportionate share of funding for the UN Regular Budget, specifically for the UNHRC, and will conduct a review of international organizations it funds or supports within 180 days to determine which ones are contrary to US interests. Additionally, the US will notify the UN Secretary General and other relevant parties that it will not fund UNRWA or pay claims to these organizations by 2025.
