The executive order states that tariffs will be applied to goods originating from China in an attempt to address the synthetic opioid supply chain. The order also amends section 2(g) of a previous executive order, making duty-free de minimis treatment available for otherwise eligible covered articles described in subsection (a), but ceasing it upon notification by the Secretary of Commerce that adequate systems are in place to fully and expediently process tariff revenue applicable pursuant to section 2(a). Finally, the order states that it will be implemented consistent with applicable law and subject to the availability of appropriations.
