The National Preparedness and Response Policy Review is a necessary step in improving the Federal Government’s response to natural disasters, cyber attacks, and other emergencies that can impact our infrastructure and communities. The proposed changes to the National Essential Functions, Primary Mission Essential Functions, National Critical Functions, Emergency Support Functions, and Recovery Support Functions will help ensure that State and local governments have improved communications with Federal officials and a better understanding of the Federal role during emergencies. Additionally, the review process will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to offer feedback on how the framework can be improved to better support the needs of individuals and communities.
