RESTORING COMMON SENSE TO FEDERAL OFFICE SPACE MANAGEMENT

President Trump issued an executive order revoking two previous orders from Presidents Carter and Clinton regarding federal office space management in urban areas. The order prioritizes central business districts when siting Federal facilities in urban areas, but it fails to adequately prioritize efficient and effective Government service. The president’s order intends to restore common sense to Federal office space management by freeing agencies to select cost-effective facilities and focus on successfully carrying out their missions for American taxpayers.
