HONORING THE MEMORY OF HIS HOLINESS POPE FRANCIS

The President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, has issued an executive order to mark his respect for the memory of His Holiness Pope Francis on April 21st, 2025. The flag of the United States will be flown at half-staff in all public buildings and grounds, military posts and naval stations, as well as on all vessels owned by the Federal Government throughout the country and its territories. Additionally, the order directs that the flag shall also be flown at half-mast at all United States embassies, legations, consular offices, and other facilities abroad, including military facilities and naval stations for the same length of time. The president’s actions have been taken in memory of Pope Francis who passed away on April 21st, 2025 after serving as the leader of the Catholic Church for over a decade.
